Jiayanh Mi holds a second Ph.D. degree in Comparative Literature and Film Studies from the University of California, Davis (2002). He is currently an Associate Professor in the English Department and the Department of World Languages and Cultures at The College of New Jersey.
His academic research spans modern poetry from East and West, film and visual studies, cultural criticism theory, science fiction and cyberculture, as well as Asian-American diaspora literature and eco-culture. He has published dozens of scholarly articles in both Chinese and English and is currently working on an English monograph titled Heteroscape: Reimagining Aquapoetics in Modern Chinese Literature, Painting, and Film as well as a Chinese-English bilingual poetry collection, The Wormhole Rose.
